Belgian Man Collects €153.8 Million EuroMillions Jackpot

The winner of a €153.8 million EuroMillions prize has come forward to collect his prize. The Belgian ticket holder correctly matched the numbers 8, 10, 24, 33, 42 and Lucky Stars 3 and 9 on Friday 2nd June to land the colossal nine-figure sum to end a run of 14 consecutive rollovers.

Upon collecting his sizeable prize, the Flemish man revealed that he had purchased three Quick Pick tickets ahead of the draw at a cost of €7.50. The winner, whose good fortune saw him pick up the second biggest EuroMillions win in his country’s history, went on to explain how he was left stunned when he realised that he had secured such a large amount of money, describing the situation as “amazing, almost surreal”.

The married man, who harbours a love for sports such as cycling and rambling, enjoys the occasional spot of DIY, the comedic stylings of Belgian stand-up Philippe Geubels and the Al Pacino blockbuster Any Given Sunday. He also relishes eating a traditional Flemish dish consisting of stew and fries.

The lucky winner said he wishes to “share his win with people in need”, and his children and a number of charities will be among the beneficiaries. However, the mystery man first plans to treat himself by purchasing a brand new car, indulging in a well-deserved holiday and making a few improvements to his home. In a message of hope to his fellow EuroMillions players, the man concluded by saying: “happiness is really where you least expect it.”

If you would love to follow in the footsteps of this lucky Belgian winner by landing yourself a huge EuroMillions prize, this Friday’s jackpot is worth an estimated £44 million (€50 million). To enter, you can pick your numbers online or buy a ticket from an authorised retailer in any of the nine participating countries. Best of luck!
